Gruppeutstilling på Nils Aas Kunstsenter på Straumen, Inderøy, 3. februar – 26. mai 2024.
I serien «Syklus» jobber Krogseth i et abstrakt formspråk med enkle virkemidler; blyant, fargeblyant og gouache på A4-ark. Syklus viser til månen, kroppen, naturen, det visuelt sekvensielle. Det som dukker opp, utvikler seg, vokser og/eller blir borte. Tegneprosessen blir påstartet og avsluttet og utvikler seg til noe nytt på neste ark.

«Systematikk og bevegelse kan man også finne hos Sunniva Krogseth [...] I denne utstillingen har hun brukt blyant og gouache til å lage Syklus, en serie på 18 tegninger hvor sirkler, halvsirkler og spiraler ser ut til å vokse og krympe, bevege seg opp og ned, splittes og samles. Arkene er hengt opp i et rutenett, og dette inviterer til å lese syklusen i ulike retninger. Resultatet her, som hos Jonsbu, åpner opp for å drømme seg bort i en evig syklus av sirkler og firkanter som spiller ping-pong med fantasien.»
Om gruppeutstillingen
Riss presenterer tegning som mangfoldig uttrykk og kunstnerisk praksis, og viser et rikt og representativt utvalg av hva som rører seg og engasjerer norske tegnere av i dag. Gruppeutstillingen byr på flere tegneriske retninger, som redaksjonell illustrasjon, non-figurative prosjekter, intime og storslagne bildesekvenser og underfundige uttrykk som også involverer collage. De inviterte kunstnerne i Riss er Tina Jonsbu, Bendik Kaltenborn, Sunniva Krogseth, Kari Stai og Nikolai Torgersen. I tillegg presenteres et utvalg tegninger av Nils Aas hentet fra museets samling. Forskjellen mellom kunst og illustrasjon har tradisjonelt sett vært tydelig, men overgangen og møtet mellom disse kan i dag se ut til å være mindre betont og framhevet. I Riss er det sentrale tegningen på tvers av om denne er ment unikt og eksklusivt til vegg eller om den er ment til massepublikasjon i bok eller avis. Tegning som uttrykksform er felles for disse, streken er et verktøy og et medium både i fri kunst og i illustrasjon.
Riss er kuratert av Silje Hovland ved Nils Aas Kunstverksted, i samarbeid med Kari Stai som også viser egne verk i utstillingen.

Cycle

Group exhibition at Nils Aas Kunstsenter på Straumen, Inderøy, 3. februar – 26. mai 2024.
In the series "Cycle" Krogseth works in an abstract idiom with simple means; pencil, colored pencil and gouache on A4 sheets. Cycle refers to the moon, the body, nature, the visually sequential. What appears, develops, grows and/or disappears. The drawing process is started and ended and develops into something new on the next sheet.
"Systematics and movement can also be found in Sunniva Krogseths work [...] In this exhibition she has used pencil and gouache to create Cycle, a series of 18 drawings where circles, semicircles and spirals seem to grow and shrink, move up and down, split and come together. The sheets are hung in a grid, and this invites one to read the cycle in different directions. The result here, as with Jonsbu, opens up to dreaming away in an eternal cycle of circles and squares that play ping-pong with the imagination."
About the group exhibition
Riss presents drawing as a diverse expression and artistic practice, and shows a rich and representative selection of what moves and engages Norwegian artists of today. The group exhibition offers several drawing directions, such as editorial illustration, non-figurative projects, intimate and magnificent image sequences and subtle expressions that also involve collage. The invited artists in Riss are Tina Jonsbu, Bendik Kaltenborn, Sunniva Krogseth, Kari Stai and Nikolai Torgersen. In addition, a selection of drawings by Nils Aas from the museum's collection is presented. The difference between art and illustration has traditionally been clear, but the transition and meeting between them may today seem to be less emphasized and highlighted. In Riss, the central point is the drawing, regardless of whether it is intended uniquely and exclusively for the wall or whether it is intended for mass publication in a book or newspaper. Drawing as a form of expression is common to these, the line is a tool and a medium in both free art and illustration.
Riss is curated by Silje Hovland at Nils Aas Kunstverksted, in collaboration with Kari Stai, who also shows her own works in the exhibition.
